Based in Moradabad, India, Noah’s Ark International Exports is a fair trade social enterprise that provides ethical working conditions to artisans and preserve the traditional brass artistry trade native to the region. The industry is notorious for inequitable practices that oppress artisans: low wages, exploitative exporters, and the need to self-finance expensive raw materials. Many fall victim to bad dept and close shop.

The founder Samuel Masih saw artisan’s livelihoods endangered as well as the heritage of brass handicrafts diminish. Hence, he started Noah’s Ark International Exports where artisans are paid fair wages, 10-15% higher than local standards, profit sharing with workers, provided health and education initiatives, and offered long-term business investment and collaboration.

As a social enterprise, the profits are reinvested to provide health, education, clean water, profit sharing, and capacity building. NAIE is also a member of the the World Fair Trade Organization so no child labor or discrimination is allowed.
